Two stacking games collide with Jenga Tetris. This new game has replaced the wooden uniform bricks of Jenga with plastic Tetris blocks, or Tetraminos. It comes with 47 colorful blocks in six different shapes and sizes. To start, you set up the tower by stacking the blocks. Because the blocks are different sizes, there will be gaps in your tower. Just try to alternate the direction of the blocks by level. Once the tower is set up, you can start playing. You can play alone by trying to beat your highest tower each game or you can play with as many other players as you’d like. Either way, you follow the standard Jenga gameplay and remove a block from anywhere under the highest level, then place that block on top of the highest level using only one hand. One difference in this game is that if you can’t place the block successfully, you may start a new level or place the block one level down. Just like classic Jenga, your goal is to keep building up without knocking down the tower. If you knock it down, you’re out, and the other players rebuild the tower and continue playing. The last player left in the game wins.

  • They are totally cheating. From what I remember about original Jenga, you have to remove the brick that you first touch. You can't go and push on a few to see which would come out easiest.
Also, their rule about playing until every person has knocked the tower down is very strange. This video is the first and only time I've ever heard that.

  • Horrible. Anyone with half a brain would leave the 4 block pieces (or tetranimos, thank you @Nikolaj Lepka) alone and just go for the 3 block pieces. (Triminos was it?) Essentially making the new pieces pointless and limiting your options considerably. There is a DK Jenga that looks pretty cool though.

it's not tetris if you have 2-segment or 3-segment blocks…
it's kinda in the word.. TETRis, as in tetra meaning four, all tetris pieces are tetraminos, aka 4-segment blocks, 2 and 3-segment blocks in question are called dominos (sounds familiar?) and triminos respectively, similarly 5-segment blocks would be called pentaminos…
to be fair a game of Dois would be kinda boring, stacking dominos doesn't give quite the challenge Tetris or Pentis (or Pentris) would be

  • There's a reason the original Jenga used straight pieces. I guess I'll never be playing Jenga ever again IN MY LIFE BECAUSE THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE

Ivy Strick July 8, 2020 3:08 pm Reply
  • I havnt played it so Idk if it's fun or not. What I do know is it looks less challenging than real Jenga so it makes me think it'll be less fun.

    Maybe for small kids?

  • My response is to the game and not really to the review. Though there does not appear to be much criticism of potential game flaws in the video.

Corim Danex July 8, 2020 3:08 pm Reply
  • It looks like you either take the traditional straight piece or the smaller two square piece each time or it causes significant structural issues. Any of the pieces that are more than one block wide in addition to being long appear to be iffy at best. Interesting at the idea level, but does not appear to function well as a game.
