Consider this format more of an anomaly for this game and I'll be back to the regular stuff next time.

The original Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a very nice game which I really think you should cover.
Regarding the "it's hard to find a good bad game because the implementation needs to also be done by the idiot making it", that's not very true; especially here. This uses something called wintermute, which is basically a gui based 2/3d text adventure software. Like what depression quest was made in. It's true that he must have done some amount of scripting in the game, but it's unlikely that that would cause engine crashes (though I don't know if wintermute handles exceptions with its own framework). The technical issues are most likely just due to the antiquity of the program.

It's so strange to have all these demonic horror creatures not being evil or all whimsical and weird and just… being chill. Like "what's up, pal, nevermind the missing eyeballs, they're in some drawer and i don't remember where, sorry if that looks unpleasant".
It almost feels like the sort of shit you'd expect from some quirky indie visual novel/walking sim where you're casual pals with deformed monstrosities. Give this game a massive polishing and a makeover, get rid of the advertiser-unfriendly stuff, release it sometime after 2015 and you'd totally get a rabid UwU tumblrina fanbase and journo articles about "How Limbo of the Lost Challenges the Concept of Bigotry".

"Horses for courses" is British slang meaning roughly "that's typical" or "just as expected", usually referring to behaviour. For example: "That guy down the road is drunk and mouthing off again." "Well, horses for courses."
Edit: The origin being that if you see a racecourse, there are bound to be horses. Ie. Did you expect something else? Related is the saying "When you hear hooves, you think horses, not zebras." Essentially, the most obvious answer is usually correct.

It has to be an amateur labor of love for them to have returned to it so many years later. I'm guessing they were an avid gamer themselves to possess such a library to draw from. I think what's bizarre is they thought it warranted a proper for-pay release after 20 years. They should have finished their '90s era game as a free indie/retro game. Instead of turning it into a mess of copyrighted '00s screen shots.
There were THREE lawsuits in the making at the start. In addition to the cutscene and its border, the buttons on the main menu are ripped straight from Battle For Middle Earth.

this game seems to have so many ideas jammed into a barrel for fermentation. once finished this nightmare is the finnished product. but, i'll be honestly and admit i like the fate and destiny brothers. feels as if they're two that must always come to an agreement or else the souls are stuck in limbo.
if this game was released aroun 1995 – 2001 it would be more acceptable. but, 20 years of developement for this to be released in 2007 is pathetic. so many ripped off assets should have helped save time for refining some of these odd ball puzzles, item placement (size as well), the items dropped on floor during cut scenes, and that stupid hidden trap door. incompetence blows my mind every time i witness.
